While there are many benefits to using a camera no larger than a modern mobile phone, the X100V doesn't sound the professional photographer alarm to people around you. It has an innocent appearance that isn't intimidating at all, which consequently disarms human subjects.

The Billingham Hadley Digital is a professional grade bag that can withstand years of abuse, but it doesn't scream "I'm a commercial photographer". It is discreet, and if your photography is built on capturing subtle moments or candid scenes, then this is the perfect companion.

It’s brutal. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had somebody ruthlessly tear me apart right in front of me as if being a model means I don’t have feelings. You just sit there and you’re like, “Alright, thanks for the opportunity, guys. This has been fun. I’m just gonna go cry in the shower now.”

The Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro improves on the original with beautiful bokeh, quick autofocus with the focus limiter enabled, and image stabilization. I’ve had the opportunity to shoot with it on a number of occasions now, and I’m happy to report that I don’t regret my choice at all.

Just a lot of failure. I prefer fucking something up a dozen times, rather than reading the instructions. It makes the end result more mine and ownership is important.

The Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L ii just works really well in virtually any situation you can throw at it, which makes it a great choice for the working professional photographer / videographer.

Even though it’s a lens for 35mm film and full frame digital cameras, at times the Zeiss 50mm Sonnar 1.5 tends to exhibit a lovely medium format-esque look in terms of the transition from in focus elements to the out of focus areas of a picture.
